MPprogs\Utilities\MPslider.exe
I have for some time wanted a very simple picture display program that I could drop in a folder with a bunch of images and display them. This was what seemed to me a trivial project I just didn't seem to get around to it. I wanted the program to use framework2.0 and compile to x86 so that it should run on anything since Win98. I think it should also run on Linux using Wine. This also would allow me to put a folder with images on a CD and display them on virtually all Windows machines. Well it took more time than expected but results I think are pretty nice. It is called MPslider.exe and to see it work all one needs to do is copy the program to a folder with images and execute. The program is only 20k so installing it in each folder consumes little space. The display is double buffered with two panels one being built in the background while the other is displayed.
Mpslider.exe can be attached to an email if renamed MPslider.exx
This program is now included in \MPprogs\Utilities\MPslider.exe. As there are no images at the location I have created a pics folder which is revealed when the "Include Folders" checkBox is selected. There are three sample images for demonstration purposes there.
Images are displayed full screen letter boxed to retain aspect on dark grey(30,30,30) background
When the program opens it uses a small interface which reports the number of images loaded, the current directory and the following options:
Clicking the "Show List" button expands the height of the client to a little less than your height resolution. A file can be selected at which point the slide show will commence showing images in order. The "Random Play" checkbox will randomize the display order. Double clicking an image will launch \MPprogs\MPaudio.exe in its image display mode. You can display as many images at a time as you want.
Here an image in the listBox was selected with a double click which launches \MPprogs\MP.audio.exe in its image mode (drive must have \MPprogs). You can launch as many images as you desire.
