Your privacy is very important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how the Electric Bill Estimator Chrome Extension (“the extension”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) handles user data.
Local Settings & Preferences: The extension saves your input such as electricity rate, default voltage, usage hours, generator efficiency, and appliances you add to the load planner.
Storage Location: These preferences are stored locally in your browser using Chrome Storage (chrome.storage.sync) and are not transmitted to any external server.
We do not collect, track, or sell any personal information such as your name, email address, or browsing history.
We do not use cookies or analytics to monitor your web activity.
The extension only processes text related to power ratings (e.g., “1500W”, “2kW”) on the webpages you visit, for the sole purpose of providing electricity cost estimations.
The information you enter (such as cost per kWh or appliance details) is used only to perform calculations inside the extension.
No data is shared with third parties.
The extension requests minimal permissions to work properly:
activeTab: To analyze content on the active tab when you activate the extension.
storage: To save your preferences (electricity rates, appliance list, etc.) locally.
scripting: To display cost tooltips by injecting lightweight scripts on pages.
contextMenus: To allow quick conversions when you right-click selected text.
tabs: To connect popup calculations with the correct browser tab.
host permissions: To detect power values (W, kW, HP) on shopping/product sites.
These permissions are used only to provide the extension’s single purpose and nothing else.
Because all data is stored locally in your browser (and optionally synced across your Chrome profile), your information remains under your control.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
