To remain the Madison Common Council Elect for District 14, I must first win the Spring Primary on Tuesday, February 18th. This primary election will determine which non-partisan candidates will be on the ballot for the Spring Election.
To vote in Madison's Spring Primary, you must be registered to vote state of Wiscon in Madison, WI,sin. To register, you must be a US citizen of 18+ years of age, have a valid Wisconsin driver's license or Wisconsin ID, and be a resident in the 14th District of Madison, WI
Registration for Madison's local elections can be done one for four ways; Online through My Voter Wisconsin, In Person at the Madison's Clerk Office or a polling location (until January 30th), Via Mail (must be postmarked by January 30th) , or at your local polling location the day of the election.
You may register at My Vote Wisconsin. You must have a valid, unexpired Wisconsin driver's license or Wisconsin ID to use this option. If the DMV does not have your current address on file, update your address on the DMV website first. Then update your voter registration at My Vote Wisconsin.
Madison residents may register at the front desk of any City agency until 20 days before an election. This includes Madison Public Library locations.
You may register in the City Clerk’s Office up to two weeks before Election Day.

Registration forms are available in English, Spanish, and Hmong. Download and print the application. Fill it out and mail it to the City Clerk's office at least 20 days before Election Day. You will need to include Proof of Address with the form.

Members of the military are not required to register to vote, but must complete forms to vote absentee. Military and overseas voters may download their absentee ballots online. Learn more about how to vote absentee.
Voters who have moved overseas with no intent to return to live in the United States may continue voting for federal offices from their last Wisconsin address. These voters may register and request absentee ballots using the Federal Postcard Application . Voters who are permanently living overseas do not need to send proof of residence with their voter registration.
Voters experiencing homelessness who do not have a traditional street address may register to vote using the map on the registration form to indicate a location they return to on a regular basis. They may use a letter from a social service agency (public or private) as proof of residence.
An individual convicted of a felony PDF may register to vote after completing the terms of the felony sentence, including probation or parole.
Once registration closes at 5:00 pm 20 days before an election, you may only register to vote at a City of Madison in-person absentee voting site (during absentee voting hours) with proof of address, until the close of absentee voting at that site the Friday before the election.
Registering early will save you time on Election Day. However, it is possible to register at the polls on Election Day.
