About Me

I am a lifelong learner and a passionate educator. In grade three, I decided that I wanted to be a high school math teacher and I never waivered in that decision. There is a saying that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. I feel lucky to have found my calling.

As a math teacher, counsellor and assistant principal with Elk Island Public Schools for 38 years, I have had the pleasure of working at Vegreville Composite High School, Rudolph Hennig Junior High, F.R. Haythorne Junior High, and Bev Facey Community High School. Working in different areas of Elk Island Public Schools has given me a division wide perspective.

As an administrator working in the schools from March 2020 until June 2021 during the pandemic, I developed first-hand insight into what student needs will be moving forward. It warmed my heart to see the level of collaboration between students, parents, teachers and school staff to make the best of a difficult situation.

Although I retired in June, I am still passionate about educating our amazing young citizens. I would love to represent you as a public school trustee!
