At a given day at my school you’ll find teachers and staff wearing anything from a suit and tie, to band t-shirts and jeans or maxi dresses and cardigans, hey, maybe even the same teacher all within a week - so figuring out what my teacher style, wasn’t as easy as just dressing to “fit in”.
While I definitely came into this industry with some of my own notions of what a teacher should look like (think Zooey Deschanel, turtleneck sweaters, blazers and a lanyard on at all times) I wanted to stay true to my own, individual style/s, as it seemed a lot of my coworkers did too, so I chose to view the category of “teacher” as another added dimension of my style.
"I've been working in eduation for over 4 years and I have changed a lot in that time..."
I've started getting forehead wrinkles (uh oh) but I have also come a long way with finding myself, my confidence, developing an idea of what makes up the different dimensions of my own style and how
"...I am not defined by any one of these dimensions, but the culmination of them."
