Early Learning Center of Central Oregon (ELCCO) is our solution to one of the biggest problems plaguing working families across the nation. The lack of safe dependable care for the most precious members of their family.
Why is it so hard to find childcare? There is a great discrepancy between the cost of running a center and tuition prices that working families can afford. Our aim is to bridge that gap by providing dynamic centers that take advantage of the diverse opportunities that employers have to offer within their businesses, along with various funding streams to lower costs and provide high-quality care.
ELCCO serves as the hub of a network of micro centers running in local businesses. With just a small investment of space, local employers can provide comfort and security that will ultimately lead to higher rates of employee recruitment, retention, and attendance. When you invest in the well being of your staff, the turnaround is tenfold!
As a business owner, you have invested a lot of time and energy into perfecting your craft. Your business is your expertise. At ELCCO, our expertise is childcare. We take the guesswork out of building, licensing, and staffing a childcare center.
Our hub will design the space to meet the standards and licensing requirements of a certified childcare center, scaled down to the needs of your business. We monitor operations to ensure fidelity to a high-quality education system, and we will work diligently to provide funding and grant streams that will make childcare affordable for all.
Hi! I’m Katie Ellis, the creator of ELCCO. I have several degrees in education and have worked in early childhood education for almost 10 years. Throughout my tenure, I have held many roles including teacher, advocate, and multi site coordinator. I have experience running multiple sites through my work with Head Start. My passion is to bring more high-quality childcare options to the working middle class. For a long time, I have noticed that skilled workers are stuck not being able to afford care for their little ones and not eligible for help. Through my partnership with NeighborImpact Child Care Resources, I am creating a model of centers that can be duplicated in businesses across Central Oregon to offer an oasis in this childcare desert.
