I have been fascinated by cognitive biases and the role of information systems tools and features to counter them. In my doctoral dissertation and pre-tenure research, I examined how information systems tools can advance different forms of creative integration.
I have examined creative integration enablers and obstacles by applying different lenses, such as attention-based view, social networks, intellectual property rights, and selectivity, and have built theoretical models to link Information Technology Interface Design to “idea integration” in brainstorming context. See the list of my plications and let me know if I can answer any questions.
Cognitive biases continue to intrigue me in many areas of life: personal, community, and societal! In my teaching and research I strive to attend to a few biases, and every time I experiment with mechanisms to counter or examine these biases, I feel a sense of growth!
Keep researching, learning, and growing! And reach out with your questions.
