Yearbook Policies

The Yearbook Editorial Board consisting of five student editors meets each year to create and/or review yearbook policies.

Policy #1 Using People in the Yearbook

Every student should have the opportunity to be in the yearbook in a meaningful way. We strive to include as many people as possible. Our goal is not to use an individual more than three times in order to include someone who has not been used yet.

Policy #2 Sports Coverage

Anyone fully participating in a sport should have the opportunity to be on the page. Criteria for photo selection is based on photo quality, grade level balance representative of the team, people used in previous years, and staff discretion.

Policy #3 Student or Staff Memorials

Because equitable coverage of a student or staff member who has passed is not possible (time of year, family declining) we do not put memorials in the yearbook.

Policy #4 Silly ID Card Photos

We do not use silly ID card pictures because of the possibility of offensive or inappropriate references.

Policy #5 Photos

As a student production, it is our priority to use photos taken by the yearbook staff.
