The Café 21 project was born in Varese in May 2014 from an idea, a great dream:to encourage the employment of boys and girls with Down Syndrome. Experiencing autonomy in small daily gestures such as preparing coffee, tea, cappuccino, serving customers, being among the people and receiving a salary at the end of the month are normal activities for most people, but represent for the boys Down a real conquest. It is therefore really important to offer them, as well as all the other boys, a valid support for the development and acquisition of that sense of self-esteem that is fundamental for embarking on a serene existence.
Solidarity and good food: these are the ingredients of the 'Locanda alla Mano'.The Locanda alla mano is in fact a project that does not try to forcefully insert the boys with down syndrome into tasks not designed for them, but on the contrary provides a job that enhances the characteristics of these young people.
