Educational Intervention Project
We will be looking to improve the health outcomes of cardiothoracic surgical patients. According to healthy people 2030 "heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States and stroke is the 5th leading cause"(Heart Disease and Stroke-healthy people 2030\health.gov,n.d.). Through patient education our goal is to improve the cardiovascular health within this demographic. By educating patients how to lower blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and weight we can improve there cardiovascular health. Through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams we will develop comprehensive plans of care to foster improved cardiovascular health within this population for the postoperative period and beyond.
