I started self-teaching dance when I was in high school just for fun because I had stage fright. But when I got to Eighth Wonder in my freshmen year, the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the members helped me to love dancing more and be able to perform! This club has helped me grow so much as a dancer and as a leader, so now I'm working hard to give back - to showcase our group's style and power and be happy with my dance family!

Science, Technology, and Society Major, Class of '23

I did ballet for a few years as a kid then stopped before getting back into dance in high school doing more hip hop and contemporary dance. None of these experiences beat Eighth Wonder though. Dance became more fun and less competitive, and I've found an amazing community that helps me relax and grow as a student, dancer, and student leader. I'm so proud of all we've accomplished and can't wait to see what new heights we reach

I wasn't much of a performer up until I joined Eighth Wonder in my freshman year and it has completely encouraged me to reach outside of my comfort zone and be able to dance in front of people. Not only did this club gave me a new skill and help me overcome stage fright, but it has also opened its doors to a welcoming and fun environment with members who you become close with inside and outside of the club.

Eighth Wonder changed my life. It allowed me for the first time to be confident in my physical capabilities and allowed me to express myself in ways that I never could. The people I have met here changed how I view life.

Computer Systems Engineering | Class of '24

I joined 8th Wonder my freshman year with the persuasion of my friends. Having no dance experience and little confidence in myself I was hesitant but it was one of the best decisions I could have made. I've met so many amazing people and made so many memories, while also finding a love for dancing. I'm glad I get to put two things I love doing, dancing and video editing, together and hope to make more memories!

Biological Neuroscience Major Class of '24

Heyyy I joined 8th in during Spring 2021, but this semester is my first time teaching a dance for this club! I performed in dance competitions from ages 6-10 and then got back into competition dance when I was 14 and continued with it until senior year of high school. I did tap, pointe, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop. My favorite style is Pop-Jazz. I don't do any formal training now, but this past year I started doing aerial silks!

Electrical Engineer Major, Class of '24

I started out as a gymnast and eventually made my way to dance and started learning hip hop on my own and eventually started taking dance classes for jazz and contemporary. I joined 8W to continue dancing for fun and I have made a lot of close friends in the club. I hope to meet more of you and be in dances with everyone.
