The Second Fortunian War

11 June–16 July 2024 III

"I just wanted to enjoy my summer, but the dang war interrupted it!" -TRM Zechariah I of Eichenland

The Second Fortunian War was a conflict between Eichenland and Valland that started on 11 June and ended on 16 July 2024 III. This war saw the use of weapons, war bonds, and propaganda for the first time. By far, this has been the longest war in Eichenian history, lasting 1 month and 5 days.

Valland declares war

On 11 June, Valland declared war on us with their casus belli being "attack by a tactical thermonuclear gnome." (I am not fucking kidding, this is what they actually said) The Sovereign Prince then responded to their declaration with the speech to the right.

A day later on 12 June, half of the Royal Infantry went to retake Fortunia. They also used a version of the "Come and Take It" flag, nicknamed the "Fortunia Liberation flag."

The Battle of Fortunia

13 June 2024 III

At around 18:30, the Monarch and their aide were notified of Vallin occupation. They went up to Fortunia when they spotted a Vallin soldier. The Monarch's aide abandoned, preferring to watch the battle than participating in it. Physical and verbal attacks happened between both sides. Ultimately, an hour after the battle started, both sides wanted to stop fighting to get ice cream, when the Monarch persuaded the Vallin soldier to leave Fortunia first, granting Eichenland a victory in the battle.

The attempted coup (The Battle of Hubersburg)

29 June 2024 III

A day before the event, the Monarch injured their foot, leaving them incapacitated. The Vallin arrived in Hubersburg unnanounced, advancing towards present-day Kingsford, where the Monarch resides. The Vallin demanded the crown, then attempting to crown himself as Sovereign Prince of Eichenland. Due to the Monarch being a rebellious bitch, the "coronation" ceremony ultimately failed. After leaving present-day Kingsford, the Vallin moved to Backyardiga. Meanwhile, the Monarch recaptured Hubersburg. After that, the Vallin was forced to return home.

A few hours later, Royal County (Kingsford) would become a royal possession and on 30 June, Hubersburg subsequently was incorporated.

Victory over Valland

The Great March/The Fall of Trost

16 July 2024 IIII

After the Vallin told the Monarch about his sleep schedule, they decided to take advantage of it. At 03:30 EST, the Monarch woke up to get ready to travel to Trost. At approximately 03:58, they left Hubersburg. Over the course of 21 minutes, they finally arrived in Trost. Due to a principle of the flag of Eichenland saying, "The Flag automatically captures undefended enemy territory", they taped Eichenian flags to trees and stabbed a flag into the ground. This was seen as an Eichenian victory. Shortly after the event, "Victory Day" became a holiday. The war then concluded.
