Science Olympiad is a national competition between teams of students, where teams from each school demonstrate their knowledge of multiple topics. There are two major divisions in SciOly: middle school, which is Division B, and high school, known as Division C. Schools around the country form teams of students to compete in events against other schools, with the highest placing teams moving on to the next level of the competition. Each team starts at the regional tournament, where they may advance to the state tournament, and possibly nationals after that. We are a division C team and we want as many people to join as possible. Science Olympiad is an amazing opportunity that is not only fun, but also looks great on college applications!!!
Each team at the high school level may have up to fifteen members, seven of which may be seniors. Some schools may even have multiple teams competing in each tournament.
Why should I join?
Being part of Science Olympiad means you can dive deeper into topics you love. More than that, it relies heavily on teamwork, and allows you to connect with people who enjoy science as much as you do. Science Olympiad is supposed to be fun, where you spend time learning as much about the topic as you want to. Science Olympiad (SciOly) is a commitment, but we are flexible. How you do at events and at competition is dependent on how you want to study!
