The Emerson-Hubbard TeamMates Chapter is accepting mentee applications for 3-12 grade students. TeamMates is a school based, one-to-one mentoring program cofounded by Dr. Tom and Nancy Osborne in 1991. The focus of the mentoring relationship is for an adult volunteer to help build a positive relationship with a student so as to help them reach their full potential. Contact Program Coordinator - Tessa Braun (tbraun@ehpirates.org) - or teammates.org to find out more information about the mentee process, sign up to become a mentor, or donate to the program.
Meet with your mentee once a week at school (24 or more times per school year)
Be there to show support for your mentee through thick and thin
Focus on your mentee’s strengths to build their confidence
After we receive your application and process your background check, a local TeamMates representative will reach out to schedule your new mentor training. In your training, you’ll learn:
Expectations for the mentor and mentee
Safety guidelines and procedures
What to do during your match meetings
How to be a strengths-based mentor
