Team 5980 is charged up for this year's challenge!

St. Joseph FIRST in Michigan (FiM) District Competition - March 9-11, 2023

• Team 5980 finished qualifications with a 5-7-0 record, finishing 27th with 15 points.  The record doesn't completely capture the incredible teamwork and camaraderie displayed by the team as they worked together to address challenges in building the robot and switching to swerve drive, a move that will have tangible benefits for the future. Our two Dean's List candidates, Tim and Audrey, both gave very compelling interviews.  Overall, the team received the Judges Award and Mr. Price, our Woodie Flowers nominee, was selected as a finalist for the Michigan State Championships.

West Michigan FIRST in Michigan (FiM) District Competition - March 23-25, 2023

• Team 5980 finished qualifications with a 4-8-0 record, finishing 23rd with 12 points.  Due to amazing efforts by the build and code teams, the robot worked much better and contributed signficantly to our alliance's, leaving the team feeling proud.  The team was also visited by The highlight of the event for many was attendance by our VIPs - Dr. Kattula (superintendent), Craig Weigel (principal), Peter Kattula (Bradford-White), former mentors (Ms. Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Strodtbeck), and alum Ryan Strodtbeck.  Thank you for coming and cheering us on!
