We believe in doing passionate research and enjoying the time we are devoting in the lab or in the field. The lab sessions can be very grueling but the intermittent coffee and snack breaks keeps us going. In the field we get up at 5AM and start our day with a dose of exercise, followed by breakfast and rigorous collection and data acquisition.
Samples can be as diverse as rhizospheric soil, submerged roots as well as human poop....so be prepared to explore some real shit. You may have to trek or hike for 3 to 4 hours to reach the remote villages where our tribal brothers and sisters live, thus physical fitness is almost mandatory.
We do enjoy our breaks as well. There are always lab joining and farewell parties, we have an annual picnic or short trip to a pristine destination where we do enjoy nature and the surroundings, sing songs, play football, cricket, badminton and indoor games as well.
Candidates should be motivated, dedicated with excellent oratory and interpersonal skills. The most valued criteria is the ability to be selfless and work for the betterment of the team. We also encourage people with extracurricular skills and interest in sports.
