During my time as a Software Engineering major at Miami University of Ohio from August 2019 to January 2023, I worked as a student assistant for the Algorithms I, Web Application Programming, and Software Quality courses. I joined Miami's chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery — Women during my freshman year. Being a part of this professional organization as a freshman allowed me to meet other women in computing and also learn from the upperclassmen who had already completed internships and coursework. Because I found ACM-W so influential during the first year of my undergraduate education, I joined the executive team. I served as the secretary during my sophomore year, the webmaster during my junior year, and again as the secretary during my senior year. I particularly enjoyed working as the webmaster, as I was tasked with creating the group's website in WordPress. These three years of being on the executive team allowed me to grow my communication, leadership, and organizational skills, which have served me well in the workforce and in graduate school.
