The planned work packages are the following:
Project management
Digital Ecosystem Exploration and Education
- Create educational explorative student skills: through a virtual ecosystem simulator development and multimedia learning resources, students will enhance their understanding of ecosystem dynamics and environmental factors.
- Develop early programming abilities: Scratch programming for environmental simulations provides students with essential foundational programming skills for creating digital representations of environmental phenomena.
- Augment teacher digital practices and increase student creativity: through their active participation, educators enhance their digital teaching, enabling them to facilitate interactive and engaging lessons on environmental topics.
- Grow student awareness regarding AI support potential: by collecting and analyzing data using AI models, students gain insights into the potential of technology to address environmental issues, fostering a sense of responsibility and innovation.
- Increase student environmental values and involvement: through initiatives like the multiplier event green coding showcase and the student demos and feedback session, students are encouraged to actively engage with environmental themes and express their ideas creatively
Sustainable Environment Care with Sensors
- Develop student proficiency in early engineering: by implementing activities such as a plant notification system and watering system development, students will gain hands-on experience with micro:bit and/or Arduino sensors, fostering early engineering skills and STEAM proficiency.
- Create social involvement in maintaining a small school community European plant garden: through collaborative initiatives like the transnational meeting and student work visit, educators and especially students will engage in the practical application of sensor technology to maintain and monitor plant health.
- Foster analytical skills for data interpretation and comparison: through activities like data sharing and collaboration among schools and the green sensor showcase, students engage in collecting, analyzing, and comparing environmental data.
Crafting Sustainability Through Board Game Innovation
- Foster creativity and innovation through the development of sustainable board game components: activities such as artwork/visual design and game mechanics/rules aim to inspire student creativity and innovation in crafting engaging and environmentally conscious board game elements, thus supporting the project's focus on promoting human-generated art and nurturing creativity in a digital age.
- Engage students in hands-on learning experiences: through activities like testing and refinement and the student work visit, students actively participate in the iterative design process of the board game, gaining valuable insights into game development and sustainability principles.
- Promote environmental awareness and collaboration: the Green eGaia Quest and AI for Green Recognition event serve as platforms for showcasing sustainable solutions and fostering dialogue on environmental issues, by engaging stakeholders and participants in discussions and demonstrations.
