eGAIA is the electronic personification of a green Earth and fosters a European cooperative framework of 4 schools and 1 university to empower primary/lower secondary students to become active agents of a clean change, by personal digital and physical creations of STEAM tools with AI.Â
The project aims to augment early student environmental perception by digital twins, AI, to develop sensor programming skills and promote human-generated art, through inclusiveness, diversity and gender balance.
The project will implement separate actions to observe regional-dependent characteristics, express personal views and decide on traditional features to incorporate into the cooperative transnational, transdisciplinary activities that constitute the core of eGAIA. These will be made virtually eco-friendly, but also by cooperative learning visits to each partner. Multiplier events will be the main venues for disseminating findings and best practices, with open-access products and guides.
A student-powered virtual ecosystem twin will be developed, student block-programming creations will be made, an AI green discriminator will be trained on student-collected images, an autonomous climate-independent plant notification and watering system will be constructed and an environment-themed tradition-centred board game will be created. The wider impact foresees augmented student digital competences, environmental awareness and European values, with modern teaching and capacity building.
