I am a postdoc at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I received my PhD from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign under the supervision of Aimo Hinkkanen and Jeremy Tyson.
Before I joined UIUC, I did my Master's at the DPMMS of University of Cambridge (Part III of Math Tripos) and my Bachelor's at the Department of Mathematics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Ptychion).
My research interests are mostly focused on non-smooth spaces, and include analysis and geometry on metric spaces, fractal geometry, Sobolev and quasiconformal mappings, and complex dynamics. I am also interested in connections with optimization, probability, and number theory.
My CV (last updated July 2025)
Professor J. Lind and I established the Knox Math Lab in Fall 2024, where I serve as the Lab Manager for Fall 2024 - Spring 2026.
I also serve as an organizer of the Analysis Seminar at UTK.
My full name, which consists of two first and two last names, is too long to use in real life. I usually go by "Stathis" (he/him) and my preferred last name is "Chrontsios".
