Efstathios-Konstantinos

Chrontsios-Garitsis

I am a postdoc at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I received my PhD from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign under the supervision of Aimo Hinkkanen and Jeremy Tyson. Before I joined UIUC, I did my Master's at the DPMMS of University of Cambridge (Part III of Math Tripos) and my Bachelor's at the Department of Mathematics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Ptychion).

My research interests are mostly focused on fractals and include fractal geometry, quasiconformal mappings, analysis and geometry on metric spaces, and complex dynamics. I am also interested in connections of fractal geometry with optimization and number theory.

My CV (last updated July 2024)

Proffesor J. Lind and I established the Knox Math Lab in Fall 2024, where I hold the position of Research Manager.

My full name, which consists of two first and two last names, is too long to use in real life. I usually go by "Stathis" (he/him) and my preferred last name is "Chrontsios".
