Dr. Gabriela Ioana-Toroimac has a PhD in Geography at the University of Lille & the University of Bucharest. She is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Geography, University of Bucharest. She works in physical geography and studies rivers based on old maps, aerial photos, and satellite imagery in GIS. She tries to understand a river’s behavior in terms of channel dynamics, water, and sediment variability. Her overall objective is to set priorities for river restoration.

Dr. Gabriela Adina Moroșanu has a PhD in Hydrology at the University Grenoble Alpes & the University of Bucharest. She is a research assistant at the Institute of Geography, Romanian Academy and also a collaborating teaching assistant at the Faculty of Geography, University of Bucharest. She has experience in watershed hydrology, sediment fingerprinting and hydro-sedimentary dynamics.

Ionuț-Andrei Șandor has a Bachelor Degree in Geography (Hydrology-Meteorology program). He is a master student in Geography – Master of Climatology and Water Resources at University of Bucharest, Faculty of Geography. Ionuț likes fieldwork, meeting new people and biking and he wants to find our more about scientific research.

Dr. Dana Maria Constantin has a PhD. in Geography at University of Bucharest, Faculty of Geography. She is a lecturer at Department of Meteorology and Hydrology. In the past she managed the school network of National Geographic Magazine, Romanian Edition. At present she leads the Climatology and Environmental Air Protection Scientific Students Circle. Her research focus is the area of Geography, Climatology, Meteorology, Environmental Economics and Environmental Education. Dana is the author of four books, eleven book-chapters and over a hundred articles. She has participated in numerous national and international conferences and research projects.

Publications

Dr. Cătălina Stoica holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Biology, Department of Systemic Ecology and Sustainability. She currently works as a freshwater ecologist within the Bioassay-Biological Analysis Laboratory of NRDI ECOIND. Her research activity focuses on freshwater ecology, water resources management as well as ecology and taxonomy of benthic invertebrates. She is actively involved in topics related to ecological status assessment of freshwater systems, the impact of various chemicals on microorganisms, and genotoxicity. Recently, her target is to learn molecular biology techniques to evaluate the biological diversity through metagenomics and metabarcoding methods.
