Who am I?

About me

I am a 16-year-old youth councillor, youth influencer and Chairman of the Youth Council of the Wellbeing County of Pirkanmaa. I represented Finland in the Eurochild's European Children's Council during the term 2019-2022.

In politics, my goal is to secure humane and fair services, smooth mobility, and a high-quality education path from early childhood education to higher education for every resident of Tampere, Pirkanmaa, and Finland.

On these homepages I tell my story and how I got into influencing and other activities.

In the "sandbox" of politics

I have worked in various political and party political positions of trust for more than half of my life. I have gained experience from both international and European arenas, not forgetting my homeland, Finland.

I started my influencing career on the board of the elementary school student union in 2017, when I was elected president of the elementary school student union. That started a larger domino effect, which has taken me along with me to become a member of the European Council for Children and Youth of the Eurochild network and vice-chairman of the Tampere Children's Parliament.

I have gained many valuable experiences and new connections also in international politics, which will be.come helpful in the future.

In youth politics

In 2020, I resigned from the Tampere Children's Parliament to become a member of the Tampere Youth Council and I was elected to the youth council board for the term 2021-2022 with 258 votes in the city-wide youth council board elections organized in the fall of the same year.

I also jumped into positions of trust in the Pirkanmaa district of the Union of Finnish Youth Councils (2022) and in the Pirkanmaa district of the Finnish Union of High School Students (2023-). I was also re-elected to the Tampere youth council in the 2022 youth council elections with 516 votes and I doubled my result from the 2020 elections. I think these tasks have been the most rewarding and I have really made a difference.

I have made new connections and I have been able to make a versatile impact, while making contacts with familiar names from national and EU politics (Henna Virkkunen, ncp., below) and meeting with political heavyweights (ex-prime minister Matti Vanhanen, center, above).

On the field of Politics

At the beginning of 2023, I moved forward in my political career. I left the work in Eurochild's children and youth council behind, and I also jumped into party political positions.

I started at the turn of the year as the vice-chairman of the European-network of the Youth of the National Coalition Party of Finland. European politics has always been close to my heart and I want to work on it in the future as well. The internal market, environmental protection and free movement are things I want to influence.

As the chairman of the youth council of the Pirkanmaa wellbeing county, I get to influence on the essential services of the wellbeing county and precisely those things that are important especially for children and young people: mental health services, student health care, child protection.

I've always been interested in influencing, and the following saying applies to me: "If you give the devil your little finger, he'll take your whole hand."
