  • Visas & Passports

Visitors are advised to check what form of identification is required to enter Ireland with their individual airline, tour operator or travel agent before travelling.

Visitors from some countries may require a visa to enter Ireland. It is essential to check with your tour operator or travel agent whether your originating country requires a visa. Note that visa applications can take a minimum of 6+ weeks for Ireland – please ensure that you apply in time to attend the conference. Also note that Ireland is not a member of the Schengen Area.

  • Insurance

The organisers accept no liability for personal accidents or damage to property while in attendance.

  • Banks & Currency

The Euro (€) is the currency in use in Ireland.

Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted in pubs, shops and restaurants throughout the country.

Traveller's cheques are not widely used, but can be cashed at some hotels and banks - please confirm before travelling.

In general, Bank opening hours are 10:00-16:00 (Monday-Friday) - opening hours vary by branch and location.

  • Shopping

General opening hours are 09:00-18:00 (Monday-Saturday) with later opening hours on Thursdays.

  • Smoking

Smoking is prohibited in public areas within Ireland including all bars, nightclubs and restaurants. Designated smoking areas are usually available outside venues.

  • Tipping

Tipping is a generally accepted practice in restaurants and bars. A service charge may be included in some restaurants and should be stated on the menu, but otherwise this is a discretionary item, normally around 10%.
