Mechanical Design

Throughout our design process, our intention was to build our own tank and cabinet to house electronics and water supply using acrylic sheets. After discussing the build process, we chose to change our plans for the tank and cabinet while building this prototype. Due to the learning curve of working with acrylic, cutting, and bonding it, we felt that it was cost and time prohibitive. After discussing it among ourselves, we used plastic bins because it commonly is used in the reptile community as an acceptable method for housing pets provided that there is an appropriate set up within the enclosure.
