The use of technology in education is becoming greater as technology advances and becomes more available. Students go to technology for help solving problems, finding, information, developing their ideas, and for many other things. As teachers, we should be doing everything we can to help students learn to use technology safely and effectively.
Equity - For the use of technology in the classroom to be equitable, access should be fairly and equally provided to all students. This is important because some students have open access to technology while some students might not have access outside of school creating a divide in opportunity when it comes to the benefits technology brings to students. Ethics - In a classroom, ethical use has to do with rules that protect students, students' information, and the technology itself from viruses or other problems. Another important aspect of ethical use is learning about and adhering to laws having to do with the use of different media and for what purposes its ok to use them.
Social Responsibility - With the increasing use of technology, we must teach students good citizenship skills in a digital context and also how to be safe when using the internet. Teaching students to be good digital citizens is important because it teaches them to be more effective in their communities and work and gives them more opportunities to make a positive impact.
