EduNova provides educational services including courses, live classes, quizzes, learning-progress tracking, attendance, student-teacher communication, and related administrative features.
This Privacy Policy explains what information EduNova collects, why it is collected, how it is used and shared, and the choices available to users.
1. Information We Collect
Account and profile information
When an account is created or managed, we may collect the following information:
· Name and email address
· Account role, such as student, teacher, or administrator
· Grade or class, age, and gender when provided
· Profile photograph and profile description
· Assigned subjects for teachers
Passwords and authentication credentials are processed through Supabase Authentication. We do not have access to users' passwords in plain text.
Educational activity
We may process information generated while using EduNova, including:
· Courses viewed, purchased, or enrolled in
· Quiz responses, scores, and attempt history
· Learning progress and subject performance
· Class schedules and attendance
· Assignments or project submissions
· Certificates, achievements, teacher feedback, and course-access records
Messages and user content
When users communicate through EduNova, we may store student-teacher doubt-chat messages, questions and replies, announcements, uploaded profile images or educational content, and the dates and times associated with those communications.
Doubt-chat messages are intended to be visible only to the relevant student, teacher, and authorised administrators when required for support, safety, or platform management.
Device and technical information
Our service providers may automatically process limited technical information necessary to operate and secure EduNova, such as IP address, device and operating-system information, authentication session information, app version, error and security information, and dates and times of access.
EduNova may also store preferences and session-related information locally on the user's device.
Photos and files
If a user chooses to upload a profile picture or educational content, EduNova may request access to selected photos or files. This access is used only after the user initiates an upload. EduNova does not access unrelated photos or files.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
· Create and authenticate accounts
· Provide courses, classes, quizzes, and educational content
· Personalise the experience according to a student's grade and account role
· Record quiz scores, attendance, and learning progress
· Enable communication between students and teachers
· Allow teachers and administrators to manage educational activities
· Provide account recovery and email verification
· Store and display profile pictures
· Maintain platform security, prevent misuse, diagnose problems, and improve reliability
· Respond to support, privacy, correction, and deletion requests
· Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not sell users' personal information. We do not use personal information for third-party behavioural advertising.
3. How Information Is Shared
Teachers and administrators
Relevant educational information may be visible to authorised teachers and administrators. This can include a student's name, grade, attendance, enrolled courses, quiz performance, progress, and messages.
Service providers
EduNova uses Supabase for services such as authentication, database storage, and file storage. Supabase may process information on our behalf according to its security and privacy terms.
Other infrastructure, email, or communication providers may process limited information when necessary to provide verification codes, password recovery, live-class links, or external communication.
Legal and safety requirements
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or a valid legal request; protect users, teachers, or the public; investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or protect the rights and operation of EduNova.
Business changes
If EduNova is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or transfer of its service, information may be transferred subject to appropriate privacy protections and applicable law.
4. Data Storage and Security
EduNova uses reasonable administrative, organisational, and technical measures to protect information. These measures may include encrypted network connections, authentication controls, and database access restrictions.
No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their passwords and must not share verification codes or account credentials with others.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain an active account, provide educational services, preserve appropriate academic or transaction records, resolve disputes and support requests, and meet security or legal obligations.
When information is no longer required, it will be deleted, anonymised, or securely isolated, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements. Some backup copies may remain temporarily until overwritten through normal backup-retention processes.
6. Account and Data Deletion
Users may request deletion of their EduNova account and associated personal data by emailing adityaglobals4@gmail.com with the subject "EduNova Account Deletion Request."
The request should be sent from the email address registered with the account. We may verify the requester's identity before processing the request.
After verification, we will delete or anonymise the account and associated personal data unless certain information must be retained for legal, fraud-prevention, security, transaction-record, or legitimate educational-record purposes.
Users may also request correction of inaccurate profile information by contacting adityaglobals4@gmail.com.
7. Children and Student Privacy
EduNova is an educational application that may be used by school-age students. Where required, a parent, guardian, school, or other authorised educational institution should approve a child's use of the service.
We collect only information reasonably necessary to provide educational functionality. We do not knowingly sell children's personal information or use it for behavioural advertising.
Parents or guardians may contact adityaglobals4@gmail.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of a child''s information. If we learn that information was collected from a child without required authorisation, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
8. User Rights and Choices
Depending on applicable law, users may have the right to:
· Request access to their personal information
· Correct inaccurate information
· Request deletion of their account and data
· Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
· Object to or restrict certain processing
· Submit a privacy complaint
Requests can be sent to adityaglobals4@gmail.com. We may request reasonable information to verify identity before responding.
Users can choose not to upload a profile photograph or optional profile information. However, some account and educational information is necessary for EduNova to function.
9. External Links and Services
EduNova may open third-party services or links, such as live-class platforms or communication applications. Those services operate under their own privacy policies. EduNova is not responsible for the privacy practices of an external service after the user leaves the application.
10. International Processing
Our service providers may process or store information in countries other than the user's country. Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are applied to such processing.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when EduNova's features, data practices, or legal obligations change. The updated version will be published at the same public URL with a revised effective date.
Material changes may also be communicated through the application or another appropriate channel.
