Project Introduction
Regional collaboration has progressively emerged as one of the principal methods to advance educational development. Various cities and schools within the GBA have embarked on unique undertakings and explorations within the educational realm. Mainland China, in particular, has introduced a wealth of innovative components in the sphere of Life and Values education.
Our project aims to elaborate educational case studies from various regions, to craft and enhance life and values education curricula that are better suited to the teaching environment in Hong Kong with the help of student ambassadors.
The project aims to understand the good practices of promotion of LVE in GBA through the development of a learning programme with the partner school(s) and to develop lesson plans for HK schools in LVE through marking references from the L&T resources collected from the GBA partner school(s) .
In Primary Education Curriculum Guide (2022), Secondary Education Curriculum Guide (2017), as well as the Final Report by the Task Force on Review of School Curriculum (2021) repeatedly reiterate that Values Education (including Life Education) is an integral part of the HK Curriculum Reform agenda.
To foster a well-rounded learning environment, schools are emphasizing the implementation of value education, guided by the recommendations of the Curriculum Development Council. This approach not only cultivates values and attitudes that are inherent to specific subject curriculums but also appreciates the richness of diverse learning experiences. Teachers play a vital role in this process, serving as role models through their actions and words. It's also important to note that this approach encourages collaboration between various stakeholders, including families, while also acknowledging the limitations inherent within the educational system.
