GINTL

Global Innovation Network for Teaching and Learning

Introduction to the network

Global Innovation Network for Teaching and Learning (GINTL), a network that aims to support research-based collaboration between Finnish higher education institutions and global educational actors in Africa, China, and India.

GINTL is a global pilot network created within the internationalization program introduced by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture in 2020. The University of Helsinki coordinates cooperation with Africa and China and the University of Jyväskylä coordinates cooperation with India.

GINTL focuses on teaching and learning, teacher training, curriculum, digital learning environments and educational design. The network also seeks opportunities to facilitate staff and student mobility initiatives between Finland and India in educational sciences and teacher training.

Currently, the GINTL India network comprises 10 Finnish higher education institutions as interested participants. In the year 2021 and in the first half of 2022, the emphasis is on identifying partners in India and Finland and areas of collaboration and joint interest. These will be further negotiated and implemented at practical level in 2022-24.

GINTL India network warmly welcomes new partners. While some activities may be open especially for staff and students in Indian and Finnish higher education institutions, we also serve as a platform for inviting organisations and individuals who are interested in research-based Indo-Finnish collaborations in the GINTL focus areas.
