What is the EDUCAST Pro-Am Tournament?
Held every two years out of Turkey Point on Lake Erie, the Turkey Point Pro-Am Fishing Tournament brings together top amateur and professional anglers for a one-day competitive bass fishing event.
The top 10 amateur participants from the past two years are each paired with a professional angler for the day. Teams fish from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM on pro-level bass boats, following a catch-and-release format. At the end of the day, each team’s five largest bass—largemouth or smallmouth—are weighed and recorded.
A public weigh-in takes place after the tournament, and spectators are welcome to attend and support the anglers. Many well-known Canadian pros, including Bob Izumi, Dave Mercer, and Nick Cousvis, have taken part in the event over the years.
The Turkey Point Pro-Am is a respected and well-attended event in the Canadian fishing community, offering a competitive atmosphere and an opportunity for amateurs to fish alongside some of the best in the sport.
