I am a passionate middle school educator with over 25 years of experience in teaching. I currently teach 6th grade, where I design innovative, student-centered lessons that blend literature, history, and technology to create a dynamic classroom experience. My goal is to engage, empower, and elevate every learner—especially those students who are often underserved.
In addition to teaching, I’m a contributing author to national education books that highlight student voice and social-emotional growth - including New York Times Best Sellers - Dear Freedom Writer, Teaching Hope, and The Freedom Writers Diary: Teacher’s Guide. I’ve had the honor of collaborating with Erin Gruwell and the Freedom Writers Foundation for nearly two decades.
I’m also a seasoned presenter, former Activities Director, Dean of Students, and instructional technology leader. My experience spans classroom teaching, leadership roles, and staff development focused on student engagement, inclusion, and equitable learning opportunities.
