Description: This book is about Martin Luther King Jrs. life with pictures and simplifed information for younger children to understand his story. It is meant to bring some of the biggest life stories to the smallest readers.
Connection to genre: This book is connected to the genre biography because a biography is a nonfiction account of a real person's life written by someone else. This book was made to tell MLK Jrs story because he can't tell it himself anymore.
Use in the classroom: This would be a great book to keep in your classroom library for Martin Luther King Day to explain to your students who MLK was if they dont know already. The pictures in this book are clear and you are really able to tell what is going on the story with them for learners who need visuals. These books are also just great for introduction to historical people or background knowledge for them about this person.

Throughout the book each crayon helps her figure out her emotions and how a color can mean for an emotion. They show her how to use her love of coloring to help balance her emotions and focus on positivity.
Connection to genre: Realistic fiction is consisting of stories that could have actually occurred to people or animals in a believable setting. Those stories resemble real life, and fictional characters within these stories react similarly to real people. Now talking crayons isn't exact real but to a five year old I am sure they have the imagination to believe their crayons are talking to them. But it is really connected to the genre because everyone in life goes through the process of learning and expressing their emotions and this book is showing everyone what that can look and feel like sometimes espically for children.
Use in the classroom: This would be a good book for a classroom library because it has the message of even though things may not go right in life sometimes that doesn't mean you should give up. Keep your head up, you are strong, it has such a positive message evryone needs a reminder sometimes of that.

He never gave up on his dream.
Connection to genre: This book is connected to the genre fantasy because and owl would never be a knight and become freinds with a dragon. But it goes into the category because of those characters and the story behind it.
