This professional development series is to provide you with skills and resources to effectively use Google Classroom to improve instructional outcomes.
The training will offer:
Ongoing instruction for a significant duration of time: Continual professional development will give teachers time to learn and implement new strategies.
Support for teachers during the implementation stage: Providing support will address the challenges associated with changing a classroom practice.
Active learning opportunities for teachers: These activities will include readings, role-play, open-ended discussions, live modeling, and classroom visits.
Session 1: Google Classroom - Basic
Objective: By the end of this session, you can create and set up your classes on Google Classroom
Laying the Foundation for Setting up Google Classroom.

Participants will work in study groups of 4-6.
Participants will learn and discuss what it takes to get started with Google Classroom.
Group Activity
Participants will create a practice class and get comfortable before setting up their own classes.
Each participant will invite the other participants as students into their practice class. .
Session 2: Google Classroom - Intermediate
Objective: By the end of this session, you can use the communication options to help students build online communication skills

Groups will explore the communication options available in Google Classroom, and assess which options can best foster communication in the classes.

Participants will explore the available student response settings through role play using the practice class from session 1.
Session 3: Google Classroom - Advanced
Objective: By the end of this session, you can create assignments and grade student work in Google Classroom
Challenging students through the assignments features in Google Classroom.
