Educational technology is the study of supporting education through technology by applying instructional designs that will best facilitate the learning process.

For the past few decades there has been a sharp increase in demand for Educational Technology. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the educational technology field was pushed to the forefront of education. The importance of the field was quickly recognized as an essential part of both education and work life. As a result, there has been an increased demand in the job market for candidates with strong knowledge and background in educational technology and instructional design.
Our target audience will be a diverse group of students who are dedicated to pursuing a degree and/or employment in the field of Educational Technology.
Students must have a bachelors degree in order to enroll into the advanced degree program.
Students will need to have some basic computer skills and familiarity with online tools such as e-mail, navigating the internet, and communication and presentation skills.
The graph below depicts a sharp increase in the percentage of students enrolled in a distance education courses as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. There may be a drop in student enrollment in online courses in the years moving forward. However, there will still be a need for Educational Technologists, because institutions, both in and outside of education, have seen the benefit of educational technology and how the field can reach more students and clients.
