Reflection:

The design project process revealed the steps that I took to create my digital tool product. To begin, I brainstormed various ideas that could be applicable to the project. I would never discount an idea that popped into my head because there is always a chance that same idea could be the solution. When brainstorming, I would think about various human needs and how to fill those needs. I thought about how people struggle with their organizational skills and their tendency to procrastinate. This realization led me to create a digital tool that would improve those lack of skills and mitigate those negative habits. I believe this project correlates with the ISTE standards through various examples. I feel that this project allows a student to act as a knowledge constructor through using a variety of digital tool resources to construct knowledge, produce creative artifacts, and make meaningful learning experiences. I used many different digital tools to create a new digital app that allows individuals to resist procrastination and become more organized. Additionally, I believe this project allowed me to act as an innovative designer further demonstrating the ISTE standards. I actively used a variety of technologies within a design process to identify and solve problems by creating new, useful, and imaginative solutions. This project also relates to the 4C’s of critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication. Engaging in this activity allowed me to use my critical thinking skills by analyzing a problem like procrastination using various facts. Furthermore, I used my creative skills by creating a digital tool that has never been thought of before. Finally, this project relates to the UDL guidelines by providing multiple means of engagement. This project required me to use self-regulation and sustained effort when completing my tasks. Overall, I received positive feedback and agree with the comments on my project. Many individuals complimented me on having procrastinating college students as my target audience. I would probably focus on making my digital tool more user-friendly if I were to improve the product.

My biggest takeaway from this course was learning about the various digital tools I can use to improve my learning. There are so many digital resources that help you learn at a faster and more efficient pace. Additionally, these tools help individuals become more organized on a daily basis, which helps them achieve their goals. This course has introduced me to various resources that I can use to mitigate my tendencies of disorganization and procrastination. Improving on those weaknesses will allow me to become a more efficient and productive individual.
