Step 1: Define the Problem

There are many potential academic problems that occur for college students, many of which are interconnected with each other. To start, many students, from elementary school students to college-aged students, struggle with test anxiety which leads to a lack of confidence and potential poor grades when taking exams. This could go along with the struggle of understanding content, which can hinder students' success in their classes. For college students especially, there is a new sense of freedom which can cause academic struggles since students may not be great with time management, have to work on balancing all of the parts of college life, and may have less sleep than they need to function at their greatest capacity. When students begin to struggle, they tend to lose motivation.

From the first version of this slide to now, I updated the photo and the photo's description in the slide. Instead of just having the dashboard of Brainscape, I included a collage of images that show the dashboard, an example flashcard, what it looks like when you look at the answer on the flashcard, and what it looks like when you rate your confidence about the flashcard. Since the image became much more detailed, I also updated the description of the image to explain all of the parts of the collage.
