CLASSICAL KATHAK - CONTEMPORARY DANCE COMPANY IN SRI LANKA
‘EDGEVIN’ is a term coined with an Imagination connecting to the vocabulary in the dance. ‘Edgevin’ does not have an end. It is moving towards the infinity, endless, like a circle. It also denotes lucidity. It is like a feeling of human being every time he breaths, a new moment, a new day. Edgevin also related to nature. Moving from the inner speech to outer one. It is how a soulful dances bridges his inside with the external things. It is about how one becomes a performer.

Creating highly disciplined, refined and qualityful dance works by careful and smooth blending of classical techniques and contemporary ideas, using dancers who are capable of interpreting my thoughts and choreography to establish a RICH Movement language enriched by Asian Kathak Tradition.
VISION
VISION
Our vision is to produce / create a well rounded performer with a strong spiritual background as the ability to transform the truthfulness of his inner emotions into a realistic form through a movement vocabulary that emerges from the classical foundations of traditional Kathak Dance.
It is about how one could relate to the “Dance”.It is about how one connects the Classical tradition and the Contemporary. Edgevin is the route that connects the dancer named Vihanga Rukshan and the classical art called Traditional Kathak Dance.
Edgevin Vihan Company was established in 2016 as a Sri Lankan based arts organization that operates programs both from Sri Lanka and India.
