We know there are a lot of questions (and even a few assumptions) about what the PTA is and how it works. The truth is, the PTA is simply families and staff working together to support our school. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions—so you can see just how easy (and meaningful) it is to be part of the Edgerton PTA.
Not at all. You can be involved as much or as little as you want. Some people volunteer regularly, while others help once a year or just stay informed. Every bit of support makes a difference.
Nope! We know evenings can be busy. Come when you can, bring the kids if you need to, or catch up later through our emailed meeting notes. Your presence is always welcome, but it’s never required.
Nope! Joining simply shows your support for our school. Volunteering is always optional, and you can choose the opportunities that fit your time and comfort level.
Not at all! We never want families to feel pressured to spend money. While our biggest fundraiser is Bingo Night and Silent Auction, we also keep things fun and low-key with options like Box Tops for Education, our spirit wear shop, and dining out nights where a portion of proceeds come back to the school. Beyond that, much of our work is about building community, supporting teachers, and creating events for families—not just raising funds.
Not at all. Meetings are a great way to stay informed, but we understand schedules are busy. We meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month (Sept–May), but if you can’t attend, no worries—we share our minutes afterward. Need childcare or a ride? We’ll help with that too!
Not unless you want to. Leadership roles are just one way to get involved. Many members support by volunteering at events, sharing ideas, or just attending when they’re able.
No special skills needed! Whether you like organizing, helping behind the scenes, or just showing up for your child, there’s a role for everyone.
Nope. We partner with teachers and administrators, but we don’t set school policy. Our role is to support and strengthen the school community.
While it’s a great way to meet other families, the PTA is much more. We advocate for students, support teachers, and help fund programs and events that directly benefit our kids.
Yes! From funding classroom supplies to organizing family events, PTA efforts add up to big impacts. Even small contributions of time, ideas, or support go a long way toward making Edgerton a stronger, more connected school.
Bottom line: PTA is flexible, welcoming, and focused on community. You can get involved in whatever way works for you—no pressure, no big commitment, just connection and support for our kids.
