Our team currently consists of 45 students ranging from grades 7 through 12.
Zachary Goldstein Hardware Director
I have always loved technology, but I love spreading knowledge even more. Every day I aim to help others learn the skills that they need to succeed. As the President of Edgemont Robotics, I am proud of the wonderfully open, expansive, and fun learning environment that we have created.
Ananya Gurumurthy Software Director
I truly believe that technology is an ever-changing process in which young people should be involved. I have always had a passion for technology, and I hope to get others interested in technology with the rest of the Edgemont Robotics Team. The FIRST Robotics Competition(FRC) is a great way to dive into the vast world of technology and the entrepreneurial spirit, as it offers experience in coding, mechanics, fundraising and public outreach. I am able to code in a variety of languages and I have taught programming in basic languages to reach young people in my community. I feel fortunate to be a part of this team and I am very excited to see where we go this year!
Ananya Gupta Treasurer, Public Outreach Director
About four years ago, I joined my friends in creating the Edgemont Robotics team in hopes of gaining knowledge of technology and mechanics and I am very grateful that even without much experience, everyone welcomed me with open arms. Although I am usually in charge of the team’s finances, operations and public outreach, I also really enjoy building our robot, even if it’s only in the smallest ways! Over my years on the team, I have been so inspired by how far my teammates and I have come. Our journey has been one with lots of obstacles, but also with lots of learning, laughter, spontaneous singing, and of course, delicious food! To all my friends and teammates and especially to our coaches, Aubrey, Ms. LaPadula, and George, thank you for a fantastic high school experience! Go Edgemont!
Andrea Lopreiato Mechanics Director
I have been involved in FIRST robotics in the past, which sparked and nurtured my interest in the design and building process of robots. I enjoy problem-solving, figuring out which mechanisms to use for a robot, and how to fit them all together. When I moved to Edgemont, I was disappointed that I would no longer have a team, but I made new friends with similar interests. Together, we made it our goal to inspire ourselves and other students with the magic of FIRST. Although I have some basic programming knowledge, I’m most interested in the mechanical aspect of robotics.
