As this course will be co-constructed, some course content will be filled in by students during the first two weeks ~ based on their school setting and expertise.
In order to support students’ theoretical understandings to perform deeper analysis in their research, each week the instructor will cover topics relevant to the central theme of the course on organizational theories and education.
Generally speaking, each week there will be approximately 25 to 30 pages of readings for the lecture and discussion portion of the class.
Students will pick one of the major organizational theory 'frameworks' discussed in class ---> to use as a template for their Calm Waters School Assignment (final project 30 % ---> 75% report plus 25% Adobe Express webpage).
Each student or group will present a written report on their final project using an appropriate presentation style during the last class (10%)
This course will use MyCourse and Perusall for assignment submission and feedback. Bluesky Twitter will be used to create a educational leadership profile.
I will engage in two rounds of course feedback before the final course evaluations. This will allow me to make adjustments to the course based on students' needs. I will explain the feedback process in class.
Please Note: Mobile computing or communications devices are permitted to be used during the class as long as they are used for the course content. We are trying to model social media use by school administrators (Bluesky Twitter, Facebook, etc.) and the best way to do is ~ is to use it!
