Adobe Spark Post is a one-stop-shop for creating graphics. I used it to create the infographics and graphics on my portfolio.
Spark gave me access to a library of templates and free-to-use images. I could access it from any device, allowing me to work whenever I found time.
Adobe Spark is easy to use. You have access to several templates or can create them from scratch. Branding and colour schemes are easily applied, allowing you to give assets a similar look and feel. Colour schemes, fonts and layouts can be changed quickly allowing you to experience content in multiple formats before deciding.
There are several additional functions of Spark, that I am beginning to explore, such as creating video stories and webpage design. I have created one video story and look forward to exploring this tool more.
I have experience using Adobe products and this led me to Adobe Spark. I was in a state of active discovery using it, unearthing templates, layouts, photos and icons and creating colour schemes.
The scaffolding was there initially in the form of the templates for me to use. However, as I grew more experienced, the scaffolding fell away as I created my own designs.
The learning followed Knowles’ 4 key principles of Andragogy. I was involved in the planning and evaluation of the training. My previous experience provided the basis for the learning. The learning was to address a specific issue and was immediately relevant to what I needed.
Learning to use Spark was Experiential Learning; learning-by-doing. Experiential Learning immerses learners in an experience and then encourages reflection about the experience to develop new skills, attitudes, or new ways of thinking.
While mastering Spark, I built upon the available templates, contemplated the designs, actively experimented with them and synthesised new designs of my own.
The learning met the essential requirements of Microlearning in that it was separated into its core features.
Each design is made up of several elements that can be easily revised. The tool was accessible from any device, was relevant to what I was currently doing and met a pressing need.
Throughout this course, I have realised that, while I am enthusiastic about learning, I do not have the time I would like to spend on learning. I need to try to balance my time between mastering the technology and developing the content. I also tend to revise my assets endlessly and I need to finish and move on.
One of the things I love about Spark is that the time taken to learn it is short and the output was professionals.
It was also easy change direction with design. This was both a blessing and curse, given my propensity for tinkering!!
