Summarized Feedback:
Add more detail on the assessments.
Feedback asked us to put it in student-first language. But that was not the point of our website.
Add more tailored strategies for diverse learning needs (ADHD, autism, etc.)
Direct links to the app and worksheet (which are already there!)
Reference the BC Curriculum
For teacher's page not set up properly
Rationale for Utilized Feedback:
Add more detail on the assessments
We have decided to add more detail to the assessment because it is fundamental in providing feedback to the students and helping them learn from the content. While the age range of students in our learning resource are younger, we have still decided to incorporate assessment methods to ensure students can indeed comprehend the material at hand.
Add more tailored strategies for diverse learning needs (ADHD, autism, etc.)
We have added more tailored strategies for diverse learning needs to promote accessibility and inclusion of our interactive resource. Some of these strategies include adding Accessibility measures in our Healthy Eating sorting game which meet various Google website accessibility standards and are user-friendly.
Direct links to app and worksheet (which are already there!)
The direct links to app and the worksheet are present under the Healthy Eating section of our Subtopics section, however - we have made this more clear to avoid confusion. The example in the Healthy Eating section provides an example of the interactivity components we hope to implement with the remaining Subtopics.
For teacher's page not set up properly
We have reconfigured the For Teacher's Page to showcase the various components of our Learning Resource. This is a change we have decided to implement since it is important that teachers understand what our Learning Resource entails.
Rationale for Feedback NOT Utilized:
"Visual Elements: Although the content is informative, the website could benefit from more visual elements like images, infographics, or icons. These visuals can make the content more engaging and appealing to the target audience."
We chose to not utilize this feedback as this website is meant to be informative for teachers and parents. This website is not intended to be engaging to students. We are choosing to use the links we have already provided on the website as they are examples of the interactive activities that will be used throughout this course.
"One think that leaves I think is missing is child friendly language. I think the outcomes are appropriate and relevant to the content, yet I wonder how this information would be presented to 5-8 year olds. I think that it would be beneficial to add learning outcomes in child-friendly language so that they can be shared directly with learners. "
We chose to not utilize this feedback as the website portion of this learning resource is not intended for the students. This is meant to be informative for teachers using the website as a guide when completing this course with students, or for parents/guardians with children completing the course. For the interactive app and different assignment examples, child friendly language is used as it is intended for the children completing the course.
"Direct Links to Interactive App and Worksheets: Direct links or access points to the interactive app and worksheet package on the website would enhance user experience and simplify access for teachers and parents."
Our website already includes direct links to our worksheet examples and the example of our interactive app. We have reworded the homepage of our website to inform readers that the links are included at the bottom of the subtopics page. This will help to prevent people from missing these links in the future.
