About edcampWL

“Un-conference” for World Language educators in the Tri-State area!

The fourth annual edcamp for World Language Educators will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at JP Stevens High School located in Edison, New Jersey. Edcamp for World Languages is a part of the global edcamp "un-conference" movement which brings local educators together to pitch ideas to their colleagues and to participate in customized workshops. The event will focus on offering innovative pedagogical discussions to K-12 world language teachers from across the tri-state area.

The national Edcamp Foundation describes the goal of an edcamp as "promoting organic, participant-driven professional development" (http://edcamp.org). Rather than a planned speaker or an outside consultant, edcamps draw on the strengths of the participants.

Last year, the edcampWL event was attended by over 150 world language educators from the Tri-state area!

The edcamp event is being organized by a group of volunteer educators from across the tri-state area. The group includes teachers, administrators, and language coordinators from a variety of school districts in New Jersey.

Teachers, administrators and other educators may register for the event in the near future! In addition, the group has a presence on Twitter (@edcampWL, #edcampWL).
