We, the Educational Initiatives Center, can help you if you have in your student's group the Russian-speaking children or migrant youth who have difficulties and problems adapting to your educational environment!
Our members are bilingual volunteers: teachers, psychologists, students and Finno-Ugric activists who can speak Russian and Finnish. We will prepare and take place the Fun interculturality day with your group of students (children or youths), named "It's time to talk".
You can choose 3 or 4 prepared “lessons” from our list and then build a school day (college day) or kindergarten half-day from them.
We recommend starting with an Art-lesson
Lesson topic: “Drawing a self-portrait as a Lego character” (each child draws he/himself)
The next one could be a Lego-game
The topic: “Building Bridges” (group work that shows the children interaction skills).
Then there may be a Finnish lesson
The topic of the lesson: “Fun Finnish through chains of pictures" (children work in pairs: made and discuss about different constructions of the chains).
We can give a Music lesson of Sports lesson
The topic of the lesson: “Finno-Ugric dances and folk moving games" (karelian, estonian, udmutrian, saamian, etc.).
Finally, we recommend to have Reflection with Lego
The topic of the activity: “Create your most bright impression"
