(NOTE: All US AHA Instructors must complete their required science update by February 1, 2021, to continue teaching AHA courses).
To become an AHA Instructor candidate must:
Be at least 18 years of age (Proof of age required by TC).
Currently have or obtain a provider card in the discipline(s) for which he or she is interested in teaching and be proficient in all skills.
Identify TCs accepting new instructors before enrolling in an instructor program (the TC hosting the course may not necessarily be the same as the primary designated TC); Instructor Essentials courses/TCs may be located at www.heart.org/cpr.
Complete an Instructor Candidate Application to be on file with the accepting primary TC (See Training Center Specific Forms Below).
Obtain a copy of discipline(s) specific Instructor Essentials Workbook (See Instructor Essentials Workbooks Below).
Register on the AHAnstructorNetwork.org (opens new window) and be accepted and approved by their primary Training Center for issuance of their Instructor ID number from the Network, which must be used to issue course completion cards/ecards.
