EcoWira 2021/2022

An inititive sponsored by Yayasan Hasanah

We kicked start this project with an aim for schools and communities to reduce single-use plastic consumption and pollution by repurposing plastic waste to create and produce brand-new plastic products. Through this, it was hoped that:

• Schools could develop and implement sustainable on-site practices for managing recyclable and non-recyclable plastic waste.

• Schools could identify and introduce economically viable alternatives for single-use plastics.

• Schools could ensure environmentally sustainable and ethical practices for plastic waste management are embedded in the daily lives of the students, and the wider community.

• Schools could encourage partner schools and communities to take up the challenge of developing their own plastic waste management projects, to contribute to a wider action-based initiative.
