EcoScan AI does not use its own external database for user profiles or scan history.
EcoScan AI uses Google Gemini to analyze product names, product images, labels, packaging, and receipts.
When you scan or upload a product or receipt, the selected image or entered text may be sent to Gemini for AI analysis. Gemini may return:
Product identification
Estimated CO₂ footprint
Sustainability score
Packaging or material insights
Better alternatives
Receipt item extraction
EcoScan AI does not:
Sell your personal data
Share your scan history with advertisers
Store your scan history on our servers
Create a public user profile
Track your shopping behavior across other apps
EcoScan AI uses your camera only when you choose to scan a product or receipt.
EcoScan AI accesses your photo library only when you choose to upload an image for analysis.
You can delete your local data at any time from the app settings, including:
Scan history
Receipt history
Eco score progress
App preferences
Deleting the app may also remove locally stored app data from your device.
CO₂ scores and sustainability estimates are AI-generated and approximate. They are provided for general informational purposes only and may vary by brand, region, product materials, packaging, and available information.
Your data stays on your device unless you choose to analyze something with Gemini. In that case, the selected product text, image, or receipt is sent to Gemini only to generate sustainability insights.
