The Economist in Lab Coat
The book describes, through examples, the application of information technology to the economy to carry out computer simulations with forecast and experimental purposes and – novelty introduced – to carry out experiments of economics in conditions close to those of the real world. The text shows that the Data Processing Centre – the set of people and information technology on which IT services are based – is a small-scale model of the nation and can therefore be used as a real laboratory to find solutions to problems unemployment caused by high automation and disintermediation.
