Remote-learning & related resources for undergraduates

Dear colleagues,

I’m writing to share some learning-related resources that should be helpful for new and returning undergraduates this fall. They can be sent directly to students, but can also be easily incorporated into activities or discussions. Discussion guides are included below.

Resources focused on remote learning during COVID-19:

• An “Insider’s Guide” video on learning remotely, featuring advice from experienced Northwestern students, and discussion/reflection questions accompanying the video

• A remote learning e-flyer offering quick advice and links to resources

• A newly expanded Learning During COVID web page offering detailed advice and links to resources

General resources on preparing for academic success at Northwestern:

• Student-to-student videos offering perspective and advice on shifting academically from high school to college, seeking academic help, using effective study strategies, and taking healthy perspectives on learning

• A faculty/staff guide to using the videos and suggested discussion questions for use with the videos

• Student handouts to accompany the videos: High-School-to-College Transition; Seeking Help; Study Strategies; Mindsets for Learning
