Dear Campus Partners,
I know many of you have had questions regarding how the Credit/No Credit policy will affect the Kellogg Certificate prerequisite and corequisite courses, and I want to clarify this for you.
The Kellogg Certificate Program for Undergraduates will accept Credit (CR) grades for prerequisite and corequisite courses completed in Fall 2020, Winter 2021, and Spring 2021.
Sophomores and juniors who are applying to the Kellogg Certificate Program for Undergraduates this year should keep in in mind that letter grades will remain on their transcripts during the application process.
As part of the admissions process, we review Northwestern transcripts for all applicants during January and we will see all grades from Fall 2020 on that transcript, even those that students intend to switch to a CR grade. If an applicant intends to change a Fall 2020 grade to a CR grad, they should indicate this on their application under the final question in the “Additional Questions” section. This question reads:
If you wish to provide additional information regarding circumstances or qualifications not reflected in the application above, you may do so below. This may include the impact of the pandemic on your learning experience or anything else that you believe is relevant to your application.
With all that has happened over the past year, we encourage students to take advantage of this question to include any additional information they believe is relevant.
Please let me know if you have any other questions about this policy or the application process. As usual, students are encouraged to email me or schedule an appointment with me if they have additional questions.
Best,
Amanda Stasinski
